Urgent and Immediate requirement
Subject to formal establishment, Joint Boarding process and sS Policies, a vacancy will arise for a OF4 to serve as SO1 Plans, Performance and Risk on FTRS (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 1 Nov 25 the post is enduring.
Unit & Position Role
Unit Function: Provide the research, analysis, force development, joint training, education, doctrine and deployable joint command and control that underpin Defence.
Position Role: To lead the HQ Strategic Command Plans, Performance and Risk, which is responsible for co-ordination and production of high-level strategy and plans (including detailed Effects and Measures of Effect); performance and risk monitoring and reporting pan-HLB; providing a high-level Secretariat for the 3* Board; and leading on the support of the HLB’s quarterly H2A sessions with Comd and the ARAC.

| 1. Promote an inclusive culture, working to increase understanding and engagement through education and initiative. | |
| 2. Lead on risk management, inc maintaining registers and processes; providing a secretariat for quarterly risk meetings; and providing guidance. | |
| 3. Provide an effective Secretariat for the 3* HQ Management Board, by prepping seniors, writing agendas, issuing Records of Decisions etc. | |
| 4. Contribute to Defence/UKSC Command Plans and Strategy, including supporting Business Areas and SLT (1,2,3*) in formulating Effects/Measures of Effect. | |
| 5. Lead/support work to write/publish the annual HQ Plan, communicating with SLT (1,2,3*) and Business Areas to understand key deliverables for the year. | |
| 6. Lead on quarterly performance reporting, including providing a for quarterly performance meetings and submitting timely reports to the TLB team. | |
| 7. Provide content for, and facilitate, internal H2A sessions with 3* and their 1/2* SLT, before preparing 3* for quarterly H2A session with Comd. | |
| 8. Support the preparation of the HLB Holder and Hd HQ Management Team for UKSC’s Holding to Account (ARAC). |
Must be an OF4 of any specialisation.
OF3 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR will be considered subject to sS Policies.
Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.
SC.
Must have worked in 2/3/4* Headquarters.

This is a FTRS (HC) position with the option to work in a hybrid fashion with the Permanent Duty Station set as Shrivenham with occasional travel to NWD and other UKStratCom locations anticipated. F2F attendance is driven by the needs of the business with good flexibility afforded.

There are several essential requirements for applicants to this role:
Regular Service Applicants. Personnel currently serving in the Regular Services should be mindful of the current Early Termination Minimum Waiting Time (MWT) for their respective Rank, Profession and ensure this MWT is compatible with the post sponsor’s proposed start date, prior to applying.
Admin Discharge. Subject to sS Policies candidates may be rejected.
Pension Issues. Personnel who qualify for a service pension should take financial advice from Defence Business Services (DBS) Pensions Department on the effect that undertaking reserve service has on their pension (details can be found on the JPA splash screen). Of particular note is reference to the ‘Effect of Re-employment’ on Commutation and, for those leaving on a ‘preserved’ pension, the Resettlement Grant.
Transition between TaCoS. Personnel taking this appointment from other TaCoS should consider the impact on any accrued entitlements, such as leave, resettlement etc and should seek specialist guidance where required as certain entitlements are TaCoS specific and may not be retained or transferred on transition between TaCoS.
Flexible Working Arrangements. In accordance with the Flexible Working (FW) Policy, Reserve personnel can request FW arrangements with their line manager. Any immediate FW requirements should be agreed with the line management at the interview stage.
Annual Training / Fitness / Medical / Dental. Subject to sS policies
Annual Salary and Leave. Pay will be in accordance with the pay scales published sS Regulations JSP 754. Leave entitlement is detailed in JSP 760.
Accommodation. Personnel serving on FTRS TaCoS are eligible to occupy Single Living Accommodation (SLA) if surplus accommodation is available, at non entitled rates subject to sS policies.
