Job Description
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that products meet the established standards of quality, including reliability, usability, and performance. This position involves testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to specifications and standards. The Quality Control Technician works closely with the production team to identify and correct deviations from quality expectations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform quality inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods according to established procedures and specifications. Use a variety of testing equipment and instruments to verify quality. Record inspection results and prepare reports detailing the findings and identifying areas for improvement. Ensure products comply with safety and regulatory standards as well as internal quality protocols. Assist in investigating quality issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Work closely with the production team to ensure quality standards are understood and adhered to during the manufacturing process. Collect and label samples for quality control testing, ensuring proper handling and storage of materials. Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and properly maintained following a routine schedule. All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Ability to color match. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization. Proficiency with measurement tools and quality control equipment. Problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis. Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or certification in quality control, engineering, or a related field is preferred. 1-3 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Working within a manufacturing plant may require standing and walking for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
